Labor Day Camping Trip

We decided to go on a last minute camping trip for Labor Day. We went camping in Mt. Hood National Forest at Big Bend Campground. It was a really small and cozy campground on the river and we will go back for sure!

Our friends, Carolyn and Bill, met us at the campground. Carolyn was on coloring duty with Nora while we were there. When we got home and asked Nora what her favorite part of the trip was she said, "coloring with Carolyn."

We brought along the scooters instead of bikes on this trip.

Ronan loves camping. He loves throwing rocks into the water and building in the dirt. He especially loved that Bill brought along his dog, Charlie. Ronan and Charlie played fetch and were both very happy.

The playpen has been a great addition to our camping trips! It is so nice to cage up the baby so she doesn't eat dirt.

A little view of our campsite.

And Clare's makeshift high chair.

Fort

When all else fails, we build forts at our house. The theme of our fort building this summer has been "camping." All forts are tents and require sleeping bags inside of them, lanterns if at all possible also.

Pittock Mansion

The day after finishing Hood to Coast, we decided to hike up to the Pittock. You know, just in case I didn't get enough exercise in over the weekend already.

Our adorable little family.

Nora loves posing for pictures, she just always wants to do something creepy. This picture must have been between sticking her tongue out and her hands covering her face.

Ronan and I hiked together at a slower pace than the rest of the family. And we had a race to the finish!

She's not cute or anything.

My Zoo

See, I really do live in a zoo!
