Nora's Morning

This morning Nora woke up and made her bed and then she made Ronan's bed. She showed Jeff, and he showed me, and we both praised her for the great job she did. This isn't something that Nora has ever done before, and if we're lucky it's something she'll do more often.
We headed down stairs to the playroom and it was only a short time later that Ronan pooped and needed a diaper change. I told the kids to head up stairs and I went to the kitchen. As usual, Ronan took his sweet time. As I was cleaning up, I continued to coax Ronan up the stairs and to Clare's room so I could change his diaper.
Nora came into the kitchen holding a diaper and asked me which way it goes on Ronan. I was a little confused, and asked where Ronan was. Turns out he had come up the stairs as he was asked, had gone into Clare's room and crawled onto the changing station. Nora then took his diaper off, cleaned him up and was in the process of putting on a clean diaper when she realized that she needed a little help.
When I finally made it into Clare's room, Ronan refused to let me put his diaper on and insisted that Nora finish the job. And that's pretty much what we did.

Hot Chocolate

In exchange for the kids eating their asparagus, we had hot chocolate for dessert. We turned out all the lights and lit all the candles in the living room. The kids drank hot chocolate with marshmallows and Jeff told a Halloween story.

Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins on Friday night. The kids loved every moment of it. Jeff did a great job helping the kids with the pumpkins while Clare and I watched.

Ronan loved the fire inside the pumpkin.

Nora was so excited when the pumpkins were finally lit.

Nora and Jeff working away. It was very serious business.

Ronan loved pulling the guys out of the pumpkin. Nora refused to touch it.

Nora was so excited to lift the top off the pumpkin.

Winco Shopping Cart

Can you believe this shopping cart?

Ronan on the Swing

I wish that I had recorded his laughter when he was on this swing. In between his giggles he would yell, "more big swing."

Jeff was lifting Ronan as high as he could, and Ronan was still saying, "higher!"

Clare Bear

Clare in the jogging stroller, getting ready to go on a run.

Sleeping peacefully during the day. She's not so peaceful at night.

Ronan Reading

Nora loved to read since the day she was born. Ronan has been a little different. Lately, however, he's started reading "truck" books. He found a box and book and made himself comfortable.

Sneak Peek Family Pictures

I don't think I have tried to post a link before. Here's an attempt that I hope works.
Over the weekend we had family pictures taken at our home. I can't believe how quickly our photographer was able to get the pictures back to us. I hope you love them as much as we do.

Good Night

The sisters.
They are adorable. I can't believe how lucky I am to have such sweet children. And they love each other!

Cooper Mountain Nature Park

We finally made it over to the new nature park. We did a very short hike and enjoyed the views. It's nice that there is a playground for the kids.

A family picture.

Nora and Ronan running ahead of us on the trail. Nora is actually trying to hug Ronan and turn him around to take a picture and he is fighting her with all his might.

Baby Clare, all bundled up for the hike.

Ronan on a wagon. This boy loves anything with wheels.

Fall Festival

We look forward to the Fall Festival every year. This year was no exception. We had a great time!
Ronan liked playing the games, even though he was way too small for most of them.

The banana, I mean, Clare, slept through the event.

Ronan is waiting in line to introduce himself before the parade. He was the youngest one in line and he was standing next to the tallest person. Nora and Ronan were so adorable when they were introduced.

Nora is looking for Ronan in line.

My son, down the slide, head first.

Gloria helped Ronan go fishing for a treat.

We ran into Nora's friend, Lucy, and her family. Lucy is dressed as a mermaid and Nora loved her costume.

We started off the festival with face painting. Ronan asked for a red car and Nora got a rainbow.

Halloween Parade

This video is from the Fall Festival at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center. Nora and Ronan walked in the parade and this interview took place before the parade. Tell me they aren't the two cutest children you have ever seen.

Snow Cute

I saved a lot of clothes from when Nora was a baby and it has been really fun to dress Clare in them. Isn't Clare snow cute?

Running with Babies

This is how you run with three babies: two runners and two strollers. I've been considering a triple jogger, but I don't think I would even enjoy running while pushing that much weight.

Tryon Creek

Tryon Creek is one of our favorite places to go for a quick hike. We decided to go out for an hour, but it turned out to be much longer than that. The kids were doing so well that instead of turning back we followed the entire loop. Things went really well for most of the hike. Nora and Ronan did a great job walking and Clare slept through the entire thing!

It was really pretty to see all the trees changing colors.

We were playing a game called, "Bear" and the children would hide behind a tree and then jump out and roar. Ronan was looking for the next bear and when Jeff and Nora jumped out he was so scared that he fell to his knees. It was really sad to see him so scared! We decided not to play that game any more.

A family picture!

At the beginning of the hike we stopped at all the trees that we could climb. The kids loved exploring the trees this way.

Pumpkin Patch

We took advantage of the good weather last weekend and went to the Pumpkin Patch. We have gone to the same place for a few years now and the kids look forward to the train and boat rides they have there.

Jeff got the kids these "candy men" on our way out. Nora was so excited! Ronan wasn't interested.

Nora was so excited to see the dragon pop out of the water.

Ronan climbed the haystack while Nora was on a pony ride.

Snow White riding a pony.

All five of us together in one picture! Nora's preschool wanted a family photo and the only one I had was us leaving the hospital.

Ronan is going to be a monkey this year. I don't think he realizes that he has freedom to make his own choices yet.

We always let the kids wear their costumes to the Pumpkin Patch. So many people make comments about it being a good idea, yet we're always the only ones that do it. We're just trying to get as much use out of the costumes as we can.

The kids did the caterpillar ride as soon as we got there. I think it was Ronan's favorite part of the whole adventure.
